Chakras And Relationships

Have you wondered what attraction between two people truly is? On a scientific level, chemical reactions and instincts are believed to be the root cause of attraction between others.

These qualities actually appear secondary after there’s already been an energetic attraction established. These energetic attachments are a result of one’s own chakra system and how it interacts with another’s.

In this article, you’ll explore the chakra system’s role in relationships, as well as how chakras manifest themselves throughout society and cultures.

“Opening your chakras and allowing cosmic energies to flow through your body will ultimately refresh your spirit and empower your life.”

– Barbara Marciniak

Key points

  • There is more to attraction than a chemical reaction. Attraction starts on an energetic level inside each individual’s chakra system.
  • People have the ability to attract others with chakras that are in harmony with theirs and also those who have opposite chakra energies.
  • Societies and cultures will have different chakra dominance and weakness, and these characteristics can be found in what’s most prevalent in the lives of the people who live there.
The seven chakras

Chakra attraction

When it comes to chakra attraction, there are two instances of how two individuals’ energies become drawn toward each other.

Differences in chakra systems

You’ve heard “opposites attract,” and this is true for chakra systems. Most people have dominant chakras that are higher functioning than other chakras in their systems.

This can manifest in various ways, such as someone having their upper energy channels open while their lower channels are closed off. You can also experience having a few of both your upper and lower chakras open while also having some closed-off in both areas.

When two people have opposite chakras activated, there is an energetic need to balance these energies. Everything in the universe is energy, and energy naturally strives to become balanced when introduced to different frequencies of energy.

Someone who has a very low-functioning heart chakra means this chakra is operating at a low frequency. When someone has a high-functioning heart chakra, this means the chakra is operating at a high frequency.

When these two people meet or enter the same space, there is an energetic call towards connecting and helping to bring balance to these energy centers.

Relationships or connections with two people who have differences in their chakra balance can be very beneficial, as they can teach others how to adopt the behaviors and energy of the weaker aspects of their system. Imagine that you have an open crown charka, which governs one’s spiritual connection to the universe at large.

When you meet someone whose crown chakra is completely closed off, you may immediately be aware of the fact and have the desire to help bring spiritual inspiration into their life. They may also be attracted to your spiritual nature and may experience a sense of hope and be drawn to the wisdom that they may lack.

“The body is the vehicle, consciousness the driver. Yoga is the path, and the chakras are the map.”

– Anodea Judith

It’s important to understand these differences in a relationship and reflect on whether each person is allowing for balance within the connection. For someone who has an open crown chakra, they may be prone to only speaking and communicating from a broader or higher perspective, not trying to connect at the level that the other person is at.

This can create a power dynamic within the connection and cause the person with a closed crown chakra to feel disconnected out of harmony.

Similarities in chakra systems

There are also times when you’ll meet someone to who you can immediately relate, almost as if you’re both at the same level. Usually, these individuals operate at a similar frequency because they have chakras that are in balance or contain similar frequencies of energy.

For example, if you have a very open heart chakra and meet someone whose heart chakra is fully open, you may immediately form an emotional connection with each other. You’ll feel as if you can let them into your inner world and aren’t afraid to express how you feel to them, and vice versa. In this connection, you’ll both have extraordinary amounts of empathy for each other and will likely form a very deep bond.

Emotional bonds are often stronger than physical or mental bonds, especially for those who have open-heart chakras.

While these connections can be wonderful, especially for feeling seen or heard, there are some challenges to be aware of. Without having differences in energy, it may be difficult to experience growth or expansion into your other energy points.

Instead of the connection developing and evolving, it may feel stagnant after a while. If this is simply a friend or acquaintance, then this connection will likely be very beneficial as you’ll know what to expect in the friendship.

In a close or intimate connection, you both may experience a lack of fulfillment if neither of you is able to inspire the other to find better balance throughout their entire chakra system

How chakras help to find balance in your relationships

You can find balance in your romantic, platonic, or family relationships, which can help improve these connections and help you both understand each other on a deeper level.

The first step is to reflect on each of the chakras (for a start only the major chakras and neglecting the minor chakras) and decide which may be balanced or out of balance within each person.

Once you have a list of each person’s strengthened and weakened energy centers, it’s time to compare.

The chakras that are dominant between both of you are where you can find true connection and understanding. These are the areas of your life that are naturally stronger than the others, and this is where you can communicate and connect with one another.

The chakras that are weaker between both of you are where you will experience the most challenges. There will be a lack of energy in these areas of your life, and it may not come naturally in this connection to awaken this energy.

The chakra differences, such as one person being dominant in a specific chakra while the other person is weakened there, will be where you can find your greatest strengths. You can teach others how to access the weaker aspects of themselves and learn how to strengthen your own chakras.

Having this list of similarities and differences can help you understand each other’s overall energy makeup and how to navigate communication, emotions, physicalities, and spirituality.

“Each of the seven chakras are governed by spiritual laws, principles of consciousness that we can use to cultivate greater harmony, happiness, and wellbeing in our lives and in the world.”

– Deepak Chopra

Chakra’s role in culture and society

Different societies and cultures are made of varying energetic frequencies, which manifest in the different levels of chakras in the people who live there. A society that has dominant upper chakra systems will have a culture that revolves around spirituality and communication, and these people will have a higher thirst for knowledge and education.

These cultures may be less developed, as the lower chakras aren’t as dominant, which pushes the need for stability, financial security, protection, and materialism.

When a society is made of dominant lower chakras, there is a stronger emphasis on sexuality, money, and the material aspects of life. The culture is less spiritual or emotional and instead focuses heavily on hierarchy, material possessions, wealth, and fame.

Because there is a lack of energy in the upper chakras, there is a lack of connection and honest communication, and much of society will be based upon illusion.

Some areas of the world will have varying degrees of chakra dominance and weakness, which you can uncover by learning about the most prominent energies within their cultures.

If you take a close look at Western culture, it seems to be mainly based on the lower three chakras. People are mostly concentrated on money, sex, and power. When somebody sees this occurrence, they might feel the need to become more “spiritual” in order to balance things out.

However, what most people don’t realize is that trying to cover up these aspects of life instead promotes an unhealthy obsession with them. When there is an undue fixation on a particular level, there is something basic that has not been fulfilled.

To restore balance in the fourth chakra, it’s important to open up and cultivate loving relationships with others, practice self-love and self-care, and spend time in nature. Activities such as yoga, meditation, and journaling can also be beneficial for restoring balance in the fourth chakra.

Lastly, it’s important to let go of any feelings of resentment or blame toward yourself or the other person involved.  Letting go of these emotions is essential for restoring balance in the fourth chakra.  Once this chakra is balanced, we can begin to experience feelings of joy and connection with others once again.
