The estimated number of people of Colombian ancestry is between 90,000 and 160,000. Colombians constitute the UK’s second largest Latin American group (after the Brazilians), and on a global scale the community ranks as the world’s fourth largest overseas Colombian population. However Colombian culture and cultural activities in the UK are virtually non-existent compared to places such as New York. The largest numbers of Colombians can be found in the boroughs of Lambeth, Islington, Southwark and Camden. Other sources say that they appear to have settled first in Elephant & Castle and then expanded towards Brixton and Stockwell.
