Around Tooting station one can experience the real Tooting life.
The Old Vic Theater (by Kevin Spacey) acquired this space beneath Waterloo Station and transformed it into the typical London urban fun called Old Vic Tunnels. View Larger Map
London life pensions are low, life can be tough in London. Rents are high and the general as well as the work situation is highly competitive. The flute player did not have a pension plan I take it. He should have used a pension calculator. Related articles Are you confident about your State Pension? (irishfinancialadviser.wordpress.com)
There are so many unexpected backyards in London, I always to come across some back yard chickens there. I love these places of neglectance.
Part of the borough of Wandsworth Tooting Broadway is full diversity and people you can take pictures ever and ever again. Am missing it! There are not fancy shops or pubs there, its more the real London – without being to much of East London.
Amongst the interesting places in London the London Bridge is good to watch commuters. Especially bankers – every morning there’s an army of suspicous people walking from London Bidge Station towards the city. A true spectacle – a sad rat race. It’s also a good starting point for places to visit near London. This photo [...]
London is full of love
Fun fair at Clapham Common, London. I am British myself but don’t know much about English rules or English behaviour.
This is not a disused London underground stations but it’s close. It’s a place underneath the Waterloo station called Oldvictunnels. Go and check it out!
It’s not a late night restaurant in London but it does the job. I guess late night food does not have to be posh. There’s a time for proper restaurants in London… Taken at the graffiti tunnel near Waterloo.
If you’re looking for places to live in London Elephant & Castle should not be on your list. Or if you’re local you’d only say the elephant. Or you like the wired things then go to the elephant & castle pub. Anyway it seems like a “failed utopia” – council houses just never work for nobody. [...]
There are not so many Bavarian beer houses in London - although German beer is available in most of the pubs. Checking a London restaurant guide you might find maybe 3-4 proper German restaurants in London (the rest is rubbish bratwurst fake, mind you there’s a new one in Soho where I had Bratwurst Nachos the other day). This picture [...]
Busking London has a long traditon and is rather charming. And these guys are really good! Often seen at London tube stations this one was taken at Notting Hill.
The discovery of abandoned buildings and urban decay is half the fun urban exploration London. I will add some more urban exploration photos soon.
There are some grim and rough places around London. Of course East London but also close to the centre, Elephant & Castle where the infamous Haygate Estate is located, is a candidate and this is where the photo was taken. Only the toughest London photographers go there… You might wanna check out as well: Colliers [...]
A young contender at the World Naked Bike Ride London 2011 (WNBR). Taken at Hyde Park.
Another picture of the World Naked Bike Ride 2011. Two men felt so well, free and alive (or other undisclosed reasons) being naked that they started dancing and shaking a ‘leg’
World Naked Bike Ride 2011: Coming to a City near You? Hailed as “the world’s biggest naked protest,” the World Naked Bike Ride is staging events in 70 cities and 20 countries across the globe. This picture was taken at the London Naked Bike Ride 2011 starting in Hyde Park.
Lots of people think there’s a pigeon problem. Getting rid of pigeons? That’s the way you do it. Unfortunately the pigeons spear themselves while trying to land – resulting in lots of only one-legged crippled pigeons. Not sure why the pigeons in london try to land on these friendly constructions? Can’t they spot the spikes? [...]
The Shard, is a skyscraper building under construction in Southwark, London. In front you see the entrance of the London Bridge railways and tube station. When completed in 2012, it will be the tallest buildingin the European Union and the 45th tallest building in the world. The tower will stand 1,017 ft (310 m) tall and have 72 floors, plus 15 further radiator floors in [...]
Ok, this pic was taken by approx. 100 million people. So mine should not be missing here. Still it shows what London architecture is all about – old next to new.
Streets over Streets
This is not the “my beautiful laundrette” but it’s full of people pondering about their lives (or sleeping it off)
30 seconds exposure for a smooth Thames river at Vauxhall Bridge, London. (30s / f.22 / iso 50) Vauxhall Bridge crosses the Thames between Vauxhall on the south bank and Pimlico on the north bank. Nothing really to see here for a london tourist besides the MI6 Building near Vauxhall Bridge. MI6 also known as Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) is responsible for [...]
Free Running! These guys are extreme – they choose a parkour to do all their tricks and moves. This one is from London Southbank.
Puppies being sold on a busy street in Saigon, Vietnam.
Since closure (1983) Battersea Power Station (near battersea park) has remained largely unused, with numerous failed development plans from successive site owners. The site is currently owned by Irish company Real Estate Opportunities, who purchased it for £400 million in November 2006. The station is the largest brick building in Europe and is notable for its [...]
This one was shot from my hotel room. There’s not much room in Hong Kong…
I cycle London almost every day all year long to everywhere + a London bike ride is not the most pleasant thing; I am cycling to to work, to the pub to everywhere. The bike is 5 years old, but it’s a good bike – Specialised. I like my bike + I like London. As a matter of fact you [...]

Strolling through the city of London which is completely deserted at weekends. It’s is the Lloyds building, located at One Lime Street (architect Richard Rogers).
The Colliers Wood Tower was voted the ugliest building in London in a 2006 BBC poll and one of the 12 ugliest in the UK in a 2005 Channel 4 poll for its programme Demolition (see Colliers Wood here)
Free Running One would call these guys free runners – they are sort of urban acrobats. Also they like to refer to this free running game / activity a s self development, following your own way and self-expression.
It is intimidating to face thousands of naked bike riders but it’s a good and strong reminder of the vulnerability cyclists face in car dominated London. And if you’re a streaker it’s a great opportunity to get your paler bits out in central London and not be arrested for it. For photographers obviously a great [...]
Two London landmarks in one picture – the Gherkin (Swiss Re Building, a skyscraper in London’s main financial district – architect Sir Norman Foster) and the Lloyd’s building (insurance by Richard Rogers).
Clapham Junction Railway Station London is not in Clapham but in Battersea. Each day about 2,000 trains, most stopping, pass through the station, more than through any other station in Europe. At peak times 180 trains per hour pass through. It is not the busiest station by number of passengers, most of whom (about 430,000 on a [...]
Is this guy alright? Is he looking for travel buddies? I caught him at London Bridge.
I somewhat like the Vauxhall Bus Station building – it’s so London. The roof of the bus station is designed to rise up to the height of double-decker buses and drop to integrate rows of seating down below. Interesting fact – it’s London’s second busiest bus station after Victoria served by 2,000 buses a day. [...]
These freshly graduated girls begged me to takes picture of them so I did.
Where can you find love in Bangkok these days? Btw, this is not an asianporn / asiansex site.
One of the principles of London. Old besides new – here a picture of a crane in front of the Battersea Power Station.
Which man did not ask himself: does my ex girlfriend still love me? There was a time when I asked myself that question, but the answer was no anyway. I guess this happens lots for a while after the relationship is over. I enjoyed myself wallowing in self-pity though. Does my ex love me?
