Panama People

I think this street photograph shows a cimarron people. The Cimarrons or Cimarrones in Panama, were enslaved Africans who had escaped from their Spanish masters and lived together as outlaws. The term Cimarron means “runaway slave” in Spanish. But I am not sure – picture was taken in Panama City in 2003.

Flamingos In The President Palace in Panama City

Strange to keep and showcase flamingos in the in the house of a public dignitary. But maybe it’s just me. Anyway I had a good time in Panama City – especially since it was Carnival when I was there.
